What is Supper Heroes?
Supper Heroes is an interactive online program to help families make more meals at home, reduce their food waste, and eat more plant-based protein foods. These behaviours are associated with human health and the health of the planet.
Who can use the Program?
At this time, the Supper Heroes platform is only available to families enrolled in the Supper Heroes research study with the University of Guelph. If you’re interested in participating, please visit our Join the Supper Heroes Study page to learn more and see if your family is eligible.
How long does the program last?
The Supper Heroes program consists of 7 online “missions” completed over 7 weeks. It will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete the activities in each mission.
What will my family do to complete the missions?
Each mission includes tasks for you and your family to complete that are designed to help your family establish eating habits that can improve your own health and the health of the planet. For each mission, your family will Learn, Watch, Do and Share.
- Learn: Your family will review brief information that will help your family learn about the topics related to the mission theme for that week. For example, your family will learn about tips to save money and time at the grocery store as well as information about the superpowers of plant-based protein foods.
- Watch: Your family will watch short, 1–5-minute videos related to the theme of the mission. For example, your family will watch videos by a chef about the super skills you need in the kitchen.
- Do: Your family will participate in activities such as creating delicious meals by following cooking class videos or re-organizing your fridge to make sure food lasts.
- Share: You can share your experiences on an online community share board by providing a photo and/or text about the cool stuff your family did for each mission.
Where do we start?
